Biography

Mind Over Matter quickly established a loyal national fan base back in 2006 with their debut mixtape ‘For Our Hip Hoppers’. In 2008, they released their debut album ‘Keepin’ It Breezy’ to industry wide praise, culminating in a nomination for Australian album of the year in Triple J’s J Mag. The duo went on to release the ‘Free the Wolves’ mixtape in 2009, followed by their 2nd LP ‘Just Like Fireworks’ in 2011.With these successes combined, MC’s Willow and Smiles Again toured the country extensively, growing their national following both in regional towns and major cities alike. To date, Mind Over Matter have played alongside an incredible range of international acts including Method Man & Redman, Cypress Hill, Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Planet Asia, Mystro (UK) as well as Australian heavy weights Bliss n Eso, 360, Pez, Drapht, Muph n Plutonic, The Potbelleez, Pegz, and many more. M.O.M. have also performed at countless festivals nationally, most recently headlining the Nannup Festival in WA. In 2014, they released their 3rd studio album ‘This Way to Elsewhere’ which included the Triple J hit single “Real Life”. The album features artists Bliss n Eso, Mantra, Chance Waters, Vida-Sunshyne and more. The record was predominantly produced by Matik (Seth Sentry, Pez, Draft) and Jon Reichardt with production also by One Above (Hilltop Hoods ‘I Love It’). In 2015 the band announced the departure of co-founder MC Willow and the welcoming of showman DJ Ntaprize. The duo are now nearing completion of their 4th studio album to date, titled ‘The Cover’ which is due for release in 2016.
