Melbourne-based alt-pop group Halcyon Drive have just unveiled East Coast tour dates and new single ‘Untethered’ – the second track lifted from their forthcoming EP (due for release May 2016). ‘Untethered’ was recorded with producer Steve Schram (San Cisco, Eagle & The Worm) in a makeshift studio in the Otways National Park, Victoria during late 2015. Their latest cut is beautifully laced with infectious hooks; sonically reminiscent of indie-rock favourites, Foals, Mutemath and Bombay Bicycle Club. The band kicked considerable goals in 2015 with strong support from triple j, extensive online blog coverage, shows with Danish alternative-rock band Mew, and a performance to cap-off the year at boutique festival NYE On The Hill alongside SAFIA, Kim Churchill and Boo Seeka. In support of their new release, Halcyon Drive have also announced seven tour dates that will see the band traversing the East Coast performing in Melbourne, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Canberra, Wollongong and two dates in Sydney.
