Boozier than Oktoberfest, more drive than a Volkswagen and with more sausage than a bratwurst convention. Hans is Germany’s proudest export and a total showman who works the crowd like the well-seasoned comedian, singer, dancer, musician and entertainer he is.
An international superstar, sex symbol, accordionist and Berlin boy-wonder, Hans has been thrilling audiences around the globe with his own fabulous brand of award winning, sell out cabaret for over a decade, performing for everyone from Prime Ministers to Princesses, paupers to paper boys.
In 2018 Hans won the hearts of 16 million Americans with electrifying performances on the juggernaut U.S. talent series America’s Got Talent. Hans quickly became a favorite of judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and host Tyra Banks. As Hans put it, “Darlings, I went there to make America glitter again. It was calling and I answered!”
Hans hit the ground running in 2019: The won Best Cabaret Award at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival for his sell-out season of Hans: Like a German; he performed a thrilling Eurovision tribute medley at Eurovision: Australia Decides Live; The Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery invited him to open the 2019 Mid-Winter Ball at Parliament House, Canberra; he was invited to be guest judge on Australia’s Got Talent; he toured Australia with his first ever 11- city national tour; and he performed at Woolworth’s 2019 Carols in the Domain on Seven.
2020 is now set to be Hans’ biggest year yet. He has been invited to return to America by NBC to join the cast of America’s Got Talent: The Champions, and he will premiere his brand-new live show, Haus of Hans: Disco Spektakulär, at the 2020 Adelaide Fringe Festival before playing at the 2020 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
TV absolutely adores Hans, as he has made many appearances on Sunrise, The Morning Show, E! News, Today, Today Extra, Studio 10, Eurovision: Australia Decides, ABC News Breakfast and Celebrity Name Game.
Hans’ other wins include Best Cabaret at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Perth Fringe Festival.
His earlier productions include Viva Hans Vegas (2016), Mein Camp (2017) and If You Don’t Love Me…Leave! (2018).

Hans is the love child of Adelaide born Matt Gilbertson, himself an accomplished journalist who has worked in print, radio and television.
