Biography
Jimbo grew up on a sheep and cattle station near Tamworth, New South Wales. Following school Jimbo was based in Sydney where he studied, played rugby and worked in management consulting in the CBD.
Post covid, Jimbo decided to return to his country roots, moving from Sydney back to Scone to fully commit to his country music journey. Late 2022 saw his debut single ‘Atlas’, a touching self-written tribute to his late mother, establishing him as one of the most exciting young country artists in Australia. Jimbo teamed up with music legend Rod McCormack (3 x CMAA Producer of Year), who produced his first three singles.
2023 was a breakout year for Jimbo, marked by the release of his second single ‘Headed Country’. The single made waves in the charts, as did his follow up single ‘Same Damn Walls’. Jimbo has written and performed with some of the best in Australian and US country music such Fanny Lumsden, Mel Dyer and Templeton Thompson.
Earlier this year, off the back of a successful Tamworth Country Music Festival; Jimbo secured a partnership with ABC Music kicking off with the release of his exciting new single, ‘Got Me Good’ dropped on April 5th. The single broke new ground in terms of production teaming up with leading Sydney rap producer ‘Colcci’ and Jacky McCormack. This year will be the busiest by far for Jimbo with a number of singles and exciting performances planned.
