Biography
Mustered Courage breathe new life into the Australian roots music scene with a diverse sound that appeals to both traditionalists and newcomers alike. The Melbourne based band that Music Australia Guide describes as “the link between Bill Monroe and Mumford & Sons” has risen to the top of the folk and roots scene on the strength of their energetic live shows and albums that have won them glowing reviews, heaps of radio support and a trophy at the 2015 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards for Instrumental of the Year – “Candle Creek.” Over the last three years, the band has played nearly 200 domestic shows and close to 100 shows internationally. They have sold out venues in both Melbourne and Sydney; and have performed at numerous festivals throughout the country including Falls Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Boogie Festival, CMC Rocks The Hunter, Festival of the Sun, National Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Sounds on Sunset Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. Recently signed to Lost Highway Records (Universal Music Australia), Mustered Courage is a band on the rise that, as Rhythms Magazine contends is “guaranteed to soon be on to bigger things.”
