PLGRMS is a duo born of the talented singer-songwriter Jacob Pearson and accomplished multi- instrumentalist and songwriter Jonathan Bowden.
After playing in a couple of bands to some success, Bowden felt that it was time to pursue something different and left to begin a new project. Having written a number of songs (and not being a singer himself), he realized he needed a “voice”. After some thorough searching, he stumbled across a video of Jacob Pearson on YouTube. Pearson was a humble troubadour hailing from New South Wales’ Central Coast. Having himself released an EP, he also had played many-a-show. Jonathan proceeded to make contact with Jacob and with very little convincing, Jacob agreed to join PLGRMS.
PLGRMS’ releases thus far have been well received, with support coming from all corners. Their songs have amassed 10 millions streams online to date, with many of their singles charting on Spotify Viral Charts in territories across the globe. PLGRMS have received radio support from the likes of Triple J, BBC Radio 6, Radio X and Beats1. In addition to this, they have also caught the keen eye of many online tastemakers such as Earmilk, The Line Of Best Fit, Stereogum and Monster Children, leading to several of their songs charting of HypeMachine. After a short time away and having recently inked a single deal with Warner Music Germany, new single ‘Daylight’ seems to be following in a similar vein.
Previously, PLGRMS have landed a number of high-profile support slots with artists such as Vera Blue, Dean Lewis, Mansionair and more recently Lastlings, as well as headlining their own tours and securing several festival slots. They will be looking to capitalize on their recent release with some more supports as well as some shows of their own.
Needless to say, PLGRMS’ trajectory seems to be headed in only one way…and that direction my friends, is up.
