Biography
The Melbourne singer-songwriter shared ‘Shift’, his first single and Australia’s first introduction to a cool new talent in May 2018. ‘Shift’ is an anti-love song with bite, a message to someone who needs to change the way they see things and shake up their idea of what a relationship should be. Praised by publications such as Pilerates, Project U, Purple Sneakers and Life Without Andy ‘Shift’ saw Sam take his first steps into the Aussie pop scene.
His debut single ‘Body High’ released July 2018, is a dark pop moment that captures a very different feeling. It’s all about wanting to get back with an ex one last time — even when you know they’re bad for you, even when you shouldn’t. Written together with songwriter Maddy Rowe in the space of an hour, ‘Body High’ is what it sounds like when a song is meant to be. ‘Body High’ received regular love on Ash London Live and also gained the attention of Billboard Pride. The track received numerous Spotify Playlist adds and currently has over 700,000 streams.
In November ‘Bite My Tongue’ a summer anthem was released to a hungry fanbase. The track received love from numerous blogs such as Pilerates and Interns as well as landing itself on five Spotify Playlists including ‘New Music Friday AU & NZ’, ‘Get Popped’ and ‘Chilled Hits’. Collectively Sam’s music has been streamed over 1.6 million times on Spotify with a monthly listener base of over 100,000.
Sam also spent 2018 supporting Sydney based artist Handsome on their NSW & VIC tour and wrapped up the year by supporting Vera Blue on her Queensland tour.
