Music is more than a passion for Sarah De Bono, it’s been her ticket to new opportunities and a life beyond the tough working class suburb she grew up in. Her life has been without privilege, however she’s risen above her circumstances with determination, drive and a very rare talent. With her candy-coloured hair and a turbo-charged attitude, Sarah De Bono was a major force during the debut broadcast of television juggernaut The Voice, on Channel Nine. Rock chick, pop star, style chameleon…each performance brought the audience closer to Sarah, taking her to into their hearts and in turn, she took them along her journey. Representing ‘Team Joel’ in the final, Sarah finished fourth in the singing contest, and has gone on to become one of Australia’s most promising and in demand young talents. Inspired by artists like Alicia Keys, Jessie J, Usher and the late diva Whitney Houston, Sarah now looks set to rival her idols on the Australian charts. Since her first performance on The Voice, Sarah has had five top ten hits, including the self-penned ‘Beautiful’, which reached number four on the ARIA charts. Her debut album ‘No Shame’ is due for release next month. Featuring the tracks she performed on the show plus the new title track, ‘No Shame’, looks set to light up the charts like the proverbial star that Sarah has become.
