Biography
The Superjesus are one of Australia’s most respected rock outfits who remain a staple on Aussie rock radio. Hailing from Adelaide in the late 90’s they won 3 x ARIA Awards and released 3 platinum albums; Sumo, Jet Age and Rock Music . Fronted by charismatic power house Sarah McLeod , The Superjesus are best known for their hit singles Gravity, Secret Agent Man, Enough To Know, Shut My Eyes, Down Again , Now And Then, Over And Out and many more.
After 7 years of touring the globe following the world wide release of Sumo through Warner Bros in 1996 , the band took a break to work on seperate projects only to reform again in 2013 , releasing the EP Love And Violence .
In 2017, The Superjesus were inducted into the South Australian Music Hall Of Fame.
2018 then kicked off with a mighty bang seeing the band touring the country along side Jebadiah, Killing Heidi ,Dallas Frasca and Grinspoon on the Hotter Than Hell tour.
This was closely followed by Sarah starring in Green Day’s American Idiot the musical, sharing the role of St Jimmy with Magic Dirts Adalita and Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson to rave reviews around the country.
In 2018 The Superjesus completed a massive Australian tour to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Sumo. 36 shows around the country , playing two sets per night, performing over 2 1/2 hours of music at every show to rave reviews.
The band recorded their performances at The Zoo in Brisbane and The Manning Bar in Sydney and the result was Sumo 20 , a live double album which was released shortly after the tour.
In 2019 TSJ jetted off to space with the new single The Impossible, a heavy riff driven anthem about moon landing conspiracy theories . The song was presented along side a comedic clip written and directed by Sarah McLeod that sees the band acting out the moon landing on the ‘set of 2001 A Space Odyssey’ with ‘Stanley Kubrick’ .
With an unstoppable work ethic and a 20 year back catalogue to draw from, this mighty machine is now mightier than ever.
